Walking on Sunshine

Before I go to bed every night, I open my blinds with hope that the sun will shine through and wake me up.  I love waking up to the sun.  It was my favorite thing about living in LA.  This was an every day thing there.  Here, well, it hasn't happened in a while.

This morning, however, I woke up with the sun shining in and I swear I could feel my body fill with happiness.  My soul is being re-energized.  I've just been sitting here for an hour, soaking it in, knowing that rain is in the forecast for today and soon it will be gone. If I could, I would fill a locket with sunshine and wear it around my neck all winter.  The power and feeling of being bathed in sun would keep me going until the real thing came out again.
