I Get it From My Grandpa - Dance Friday
This past Christmas my dad took my sister, my mom and me out to see some live music. His friend was playing at a local bar. My dad introduced my sister , "This is my daughter Jessie." "Oh wow!," the man exclaimed, "you look just like your mom! Wow, you could be the same person!" A little bit of laughter followed because we were used to hearing this. "This is my other daughter, Megan." *crickets* "Oh. Nice to meet you."
Some people look like carbon copies of their family members but I seem to be a hodgepodge of little bits and pieces that result in a person who doesn't look really like anyone at all. However, I was recently visiting my grandparents, my mom's parents, in Seattle and I realized that I get some really good things...and I get them from my grandpa. Examples? You got it.
1. We all go get our coats to head out to dinner. Grandpa and I both grab our hats. Always.
2. I ask my grandma if I can help with the dishes. No, she reminds me, dishes are grandpa's thing. (I LOVE doing the dishes.)
3. Grandpa wants to learn how to moonwalk.
Yes, folks, that right there is a guy related to me. So for Dance Friday, Grandpa McCullough, I am bringing you a tutorial and some inspiration from the man. You can do it!
