Cool Things
This week started with a beautiful California kind of fall. Man, am I all about it. A California fall in Buffalo means it is 75 degrees AND the leaves are gorgeous. I know climate change is a problem but I can revel in it a little bit. We're looking at cooler temperatures and some snow coming soon. Thankfully, we hooked up gas logs to our empty fireplace in the living room just in time. Here are some of the cool things I've read about this week.
Curled up in front of our first fire with the biography of Margaret Wise Brown. Seems appropriate. |
My friend Stacy and I were chatting online about how the quarantine means that a lot of people are purging books and bookshelves. She said her Goodwill is filled with amazing finds. While I haven't ventured into a thrift shop recently, Oscar and I have been taking, and contributing to, the brimming Free Little Libraries in our neighborhood. Stacy also posted this article about book lovers vs. Marie Kondo. I'm all about it. Especially this line, "A home needs a bit of curated clutter, and that curated clutter has to include things that tell the story of your life, of what you love. For me, that’s books." Amen, sister.
It was announced this week that Blue Ivy Carter, Queen Bey's daughter (Beyonce, folks) will narrate the audio book version of Hair Love.
The Conscious Kid Instagram account is pretty amazing if you haven't checked it out already. Check out this Veteran's Day post.
