The Last Two Funny Books - Illustrator Zachariah O'Hora
No, no, there aren't only two more funny books in the world. We just happen to love a couple of books that are 1. hysterical and 2. illustrated by Zachariah O'Hora. And also, May is upon us so we will bid farewell to the April posts about funny books.
Who Wet My Pants by Bob Shea, is a particularly funny book for our family. I was a bed wetter. Enough so that the family has a canon of "Meg wet her pants/bed/her little sister" stories that get told whenever the need arises. So Who Wet My Pants brought tears to my eyes and thankfully, no wet pants. Reuben the Bear brings donuts to the camp where his friends are waiting for him. When he realizes his pants are wet he asks the only logical question, "Who wet my pants?" He goes through each animal, accusing the animals of being the culprit. Finally, it dawns on him, that he has not been near his friends and there is only one conclusion.
Wolfie the Bunny is written by Ame Dykman. One day, the rabbit family finds a little bundle by their door. Lo and behold, it is a baby wolf that the parents decide to adopt. Not everyone is keen on this idea though. Their daughter, Dot, keeps trying to point out the obvious fact that the wolf will eat them. One day, the family runs out of carrots so Dot and Wolfie head to the store to get some more. When a big bear causes trouble, Wolfie and Dot find out whose side Wolfie is really on.
